Habitat for Humanity has awarded Jodi House member, Shawn R., with $20,000 for critical home repairs for his mobile home. These repairs include a termite fumigation, replacing the flooring of one bedroom, providing safer stairs and rails for the stairs, a fresh coat of paint on the outside stairs, and various other renovations.

Habitat for Humanity has already started to enlist volunteers from the Santa Barbara community to help with the project. The renovations and updates will officially begin in April, starting with the termite fumigation. Volunteers will continue to work until the project is complete, which is estimated to be finished sometime at the end of April or earlier.

Shawn has been waiting a very long time for these much needed repairs and is so excited for this project to come to fruition.

Photos of the project will be posted onto Habitat for Humanity’s website, as well as an interview with Shawn and Jodi House’s Case Manager, Mikayla Gordon. There will also be an event recognizing Shawn and other Habitat for Humanity recipients in May.
