Jodi House Members to Receive Free Headspace Services From Department of Behavioral Wellness

By January 7, 2022No Comments

Members of Jodi House will soon be able to access meditation and sleep services from the Headspace app for free as a part of a partnership with the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness.

The Department of Behavioral Wellness teamed up with Help@Hand to make 5,000 Headspace licenses available to eligible populations within Santa Barbara County. This five-year initiative is being funded by the California Mental Health Services Authority and the Mental Health Services Act Innovations. The mission of the project is to increase the accessibility of mental health services to those in need.

The licenses became available beginning on October 2, 2021. They are provided at no cost for those who qualify for the service.

Headspace is an app that provides mental health services and wellbeing care through meditation and sleep practices. It is used in 190 countries, with more than 70 million members worldwide. It is available to use on most Apple, Android, desktop and tablet devices.

Jodi House is in the process of meeting with representatives from the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness and Help@Hand to secure membership opportunities for our interested members. In the meantime, Jodi House was granted a free group membership to access group meditation classes. The ultimate goal is to get members registered for their own individual accounts, so they can access the programs on the app whenever they need.
