By March 22, 2022No Comments

The Brain Injury Association of America has been recognizing Brain Injury Awareness Month throughout all of March. On Brain Injury Awareness Day (March 16, 2022), the Congressional Brain Injury Task Force took its cause to a virtual briefing on Capitol Hill.

The session was co-chaired by Congressional Representatives Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-N.J.) and Don Bacon (R-Neb), and featured other remarks from presenters including Carrie Swope, Matthew Duglin, Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Rep. Fred Keller (R-PA), Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), Michael Gamel-McCormick, PhD, and Matthew Breiding, PhD.

The session focused on many angles of brain injury awareness and prevention of TBI, including personal stories from many of the presenters of how they are tied to the community of brain injury survivors.

This event on Capitol Hill occurs every year with the last few sessions being held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Brain Injury Association of America has hopes to bring the Capitol Hill session back to being in person by 2023.
